Algebra & Love

These architectural collages tell stories. Unlike in the "Houses" gallery, I show people in these pictures. Often, they are motifs from my archive of historical portraits. Some collages (e.g., "Window-Eyed Forest") are recolored black and white images. Architecture here represents an inner situation.

When a person is in internal and external motion, the tensions of life become particularly apparent. I always approach the imaginary "heroes" of my collages with respect and try to give them dignity. The stories I tell are, of course, not fixed. Sometimes, however, I offer a suggestion with the title.
