Houses

Buildings are never emotionally neutral. We travel far and wide to marvel at them. In my collages, I can use this expressive power of architecture to freely connect our inner world of associations, feelings, and ideas with the outer world.

The structure that emerges may seem absurd at first glance. But it always contains fields of tension in our existence: being at home meets being on the road. The beauty of the delicate and transient meets technical efficiency. Floating lightness meets the laws of statics.

It is a fascinating challenge to keep these tensions and contradictions in balance. I don't resolve them; I give them something akin to peace and dignity.
